Interviews, a look at how the work really happens, and a short prototype of the riskiest idea. You get scope, budget and a roadmap in writing.

How we work
The most expensive software mistakes happen before development starts. Our discovery engagements turn an idea or a problem into a clear scope, architecture, budget and roadmap you can act on — with us or anyone else.
A discovery engagement runs two to four weeks. We interview stakeholders, observe the current process, review existing systems and research users. Then we prototype the riskiest parts to check they work before you commit a budget.
You leave with a written recommendation: the problem worth solving, the proposed solution and architecture, a phased roadmap, a realistic budget range and the risks we see. It is yours to keep, regardless of who builds it.
For companies without in-house technical leadership we also offer fractional CTO support — vendor selection, hiring help, architecture reviews and a trusted second opinion.
Every engagement is scoped to your needs. These are the pieces we deliver most often.

1–3 weeksPaper sketches, wireframes and clickable prototypes tested with real users, then a visual design system developers can build from.
2–4 weeksTwo-week sprints with a working demo at the end of each one. You see progress in the software, not in a slide deck.
6–14 weeksA careful release, training for your team, monitoring from day one — then a support plan that keeps the software improving.
OngoingDiscovery engagements typically range from $6,000 to $18,000 depending on scope. If you continue with us into development, the discovery fee is credited against the first release.
Absolutely. The documents and prototypes belong to you.
Yes. If an existing product solves your problem well, we will say so — even if it means less work for us.
A free 30-minute call is the easiest way to start. Bring the problem, the half-formed idea or the spreadsheet that runs your business — we’ll bring questions.
